Savoring the Experience:

Assam tea is known for its brisk, astringent taste that comes from the naturally occurring tannins found within. It is this robust flavor that makes it acceptable to round out the infusion with a bit of milk and sugar. The quality of our Assam loose-leaf and its strong nature makes it ideal for multiple infusions.

Fun Facts:

Most Assam teas are produced for a low-grade tea known as CTC tea which is generally reserved for mass-produced teabags. The Mokalbari estate where our Assam black tea comes from makes limited quantities of loose-leaf tea known as orthodox tea, meaning it is processed with the traditional methods of plucking, withering, rolling, oxidation, or fermentation and drying. Our Assam Black Tea is one such tea.
