Most Assam teas are produced for a low-grade tea known as CTC tea which is generally reserved for mass-produced teabags. The Mokalbari estate where our Assam black tea comes from makes limited quantities of loose-leaf tea known as orthodox tea, meaning it is processed with the traditional methods of plucking, withering, rolling, oxidation, or fermentation and drying.
