Fun Facts:

The Mandarin word for gunpowder tea is zhū chá which means pearl or bead tea. This refers to the tightly rolled leaves that resemble a pearl or bead. No one knows why the English term for this tea is gunpowder but there are a few theories. The best theory is that the tea is rolled tightly looking like tiny pellets of gunpowder that explode as they unfurl in the water.
