With an upcoming British Royal Wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle tea is in the spotlight. It is said that Queen Elizabeth (Prince Harry’s grandma) invited Ms. Markle to tea a couple of times prior to the engagement announcement.
Christopher Andersen, author of The Day Diana Died, said “The queen considers her daily afternoon tea absolutely sacrosanct. At 5:00pm Her Majesty drops everything for teatime. The Queen always insists on being ‘mother’—pouring everyone else’s tea before serving herself.”
Besides the British Royals, other famous folks enjoy tea. And it’s not only women who drink tea.
At least three men who played James Bond enjoy a cup of tea, Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. And, Daniel Craig’s wife Rachel Weisz is a fan of strong, black tea and is quoted “I do like a proper builder’s cup of tea; a strong, straightforward brew that keeps working men going.”
